Farm Manager II
Farm Manager 2 (FM2) supports farming operations as defined by Farm Manager 1 (FM1), and works alongside FM1 to complete daily goals and operations. While FM 1 will focus more on establishing the seasonal and daily farm plan for everyone working that day, FM2 will focus more on managing the people who work and volunteer on the farm alongside FM1.FM2 is expected to have farming experience and be capable of operating the farm independently when FM1 is not working. This person will also work with Growers to set custom goals to ensure that they develop their understanding of what it means to be a good employee, and to achieve customized goals based on the Grower’s interests and abilities with support from FM1. FM2 will sit down with Growers three times a season and maintain records about their progress toward their personal goals, and communicate any issues to and seek advice from caregivers, as necessary, to ensure that Growers are as successful as possible.
FM2 is also expected to work alongside FM1 to manage Crew Leaders (there are generally two per season) in the field, and any daily volunteers, with support from the FM1. FM2 will work with FM1, as needed, to adjust the daily farm plans, based on the skills, personalities, and talents of Growers, as the season progresses. FM1 will also work with FM2 to manage Growers in a kitchen, where you will produce finished food products, such as jams and pickles.
